Once cured, it forms a seamless, flexible coating that helps protect metal roofs from water ingress, UV exposure and the constant expansion and contraction caused by changing temperatures.
To strengthen the waterproofing system even further, the Sikalastic® Reemat membrane was incorporated into the membrane. This reinforcement provides additional durability and helps the waterproofing system perform exceptionally well over large roof areas that are constantly exposed to the elements.
Before any waterproofing was applied, the roof itself needed careful preparation. Areas affected by pitted rust were professionally treated before the entire roof was thoroughly high-pressure cleaned to remove dirt, debris and contaminants. Proper preparation is one of the most important parts of any successful waterproofing project, ensuring the waterproofing system achieves maximum adhesion and long-term performance.
To create an even stronger bond between the metal roof sheets and the waterproofing membrane, Sikalastic® Metal Primer was applied before the waterproofing system. This extra step helps maximise adhesion and contributes to the long lifespan expected from a professionally installed waterproofing solution.
